Adrian Mezyk was born and raised in Drumheller Alberta. When Adrian was 15, Jurassic Park came out in theatres. From the moment he first watched it, he was enamoured with the idea of a living dinosaur museum. He made future academic choices centered around the idea of eventually creating dinosaurs. He moved to Edmonton, and enrolled at the University of Alberta where he double majored in genetics and palentology. He was hired into GenPet, a genetics company specialized in designer pets, right out of university. He quickly rose to being one of the top geneticists at GenPet, and as a side hobby he started trying to work out how to genetically engineer a dinosaur.
Finally after years of researching, he felt he was on the brink of something, so he locked himself in his basement lab. After a month of no contact with the outside world, he had a baby Lystrosaurus. Afterwards he had a great deal of explaining to do to his boss about his month long absense. He was able to keep his job because one of the executives, Jonah Johnson, knew that the company would suffer if they lost Mezyk. He bluffed the other executives into believing that Mezyk had a breakthrough, and would have a presentation ready soon. Jonah gave Mezyk 4 days write up a proposal. Mezyk wracked his brain, and after 2 days submitted a proposal for bioluminecent cats. The month long absence was docked from Mezyk’s built up paid vacation time.
Sadly that same year, the stock market crashed, and his house was foreclosed. While he still kept his job at the company, he was forced to move into a small bachelor appartment with his Lystrosaurus whom he named after his favorite ninja turtle. Without his own private home lab, Dr. Mezyk has been forced to put his dinosaur research on hold until he can find a suitible replacement. He recently spotted an ad for warehouse space in the Alloy Blend. GenPet also recently announced their new line of glow in the dark cats.
